I begyndelsen af Hendrik Consciencelaan fanger den pittoreske villa Duinrust opmærksomheden. Denne rummelige feriebolig er en af de ældste i Bredene. Den blev bygget i 1908 for en antikvitetshandler fra Gent. Visse detaljer ved villaen, såsom en sten med årstallet 1650 i trappen til indgangen og løverne på hegnet, kan muligvis forklares med opdragsgivers erhverv.
