Sus van Gils, en en lokal landmand, kørte en dag i 1932 med sin hest og vogn til sine marker. Da han kørte ind på sin mark, faldt han af sin vogn. Han faldt lige for hjulet og frygtede at blive overkørt. Som ved et mirakl stoppede hesten, og Sus forblev dermed uskadt.
I taknemmelighed byggede han kapellet til Vor Frue af Lourdes.
Søstrene Leestmans syntes, at dette sted var yderst egnet til at sidde og hvile. De ofrede sammen med nogle penge en seddel med teksten:
"En frankske for en bankske fra et plankske"
Nu vedligeholdes kapellet af kommunen.
