Gustav kan genkendes på et par falske håndjern, som han bærer som en gimmick. Gustav Rust er en deporteret DDR'er fra regeringen, og han kan fortælle dig alt om, hvordan det var at leve i DDR med en afvigende politisk overbevisning og konsekvenserne og repressalierne heraf: omkring ti forskellige fængsler.
