Sayda er en by, der hører til en kreis i den sydøstlige del af Landkreis Mittelsachsen. Den er en del af forvaltningsfællesskabet Sayda/Dorfchemnitz og er dokumenteret skriftligt siden begyndelsen af det 13. århundrede.
Bergbyen Sayda ligger i de østtyske bjerge mellem dalene Freiberger Mulde og Flöha. Vandtårnet står på byens højeste punkt med 680 m over havets overflade. I nord ligger Saydaer Höhe med 729 m over havets overflade. Med uret er stedet omgivet af Meisenberg, König-Friedrich-August-Höhe, Hexenberg og Voigtsdorfer Höhe. Store skove i kommunen er Mühlholz, den sorte busk, Tännicht og det gamle Gehau.
