Kommunen Bad Zwischenahn ligger i den sydøstlige del af Landkreis Ammerland. Hovedbyen i kommunen og dens administrationskontor er den samme by Bad Zwischenahn ved Zwischenahner Meer. Den ligger 17 kilometer vest for byen Oldenburg. Nordsøen er cirka 60 kilometer væk, og den nederlandske grænse er cirka 80 kilometer væk.
