Wald-Michelbach i Odenwald er med et areal på over 74 km² den arealmæssigt største kommune i den sydhessiske Kreis Bergstraße, endnu før byen Lampertheim.
Wald-Michelbach ligger i midten af den geologiske udvikling af Odenwald, ved skæringspunktet mellem den nordlige → Böllsteiner-Gneis-Odenwald, den vestlige → Trommgranit og den østlige → Buntsandstein-Odenwald. Disse formationer blev forårsaget af store bevægelser i jordskorpen i to forskellige geologiske perioder og en mellemliggende erosion og sedimentation.
