I forvaltningen af Tangermünde i Stendal Kommune var otte kommuner samlet for at håndtere deres administrative opgaver. Den oprindeligt til forvaltningen knyttede kommune Schelldorf skiftede den 27. december 2007 til forvaltningen Tangerhütte-Land.
Forvaltningen Tangermünde, beliggende i den sydøstlige del af Altmark, omkransede området nord, vest og syd for byen Tangermünde i en halvcirkel. Mod øst dannede Elben grænsen til Jerichower Land. Myndigheden havde sit sæde i den navngivne by Tangermünde.
