Rådhuset på Geistmarkt blev bygget i 1938/39 i neogotisk stil, ødelagt under krigen og genopført efter gamle forbilleder. I sin rådsalg finder man Emmericher Gobelinet, et vægtæppe lavet af lavlandsprodukter og som repræsenterer industrien i Emmerich. Den kendte Emmericher kunstner Bernd Terhorst (d. 1986) designede dette gobelin i 1940/41, hans hustru Elisabeth (d. 1956) udførte vævearbejdet. Først efter 10 års virke – med en krigsrelateret afbrydelse – kunne man overdrage mesterværket til sin bestemmelse.
