Garrotxa Vulkanisk Zone Naturpark omfatter det vulkanske område fra Olot og har omkring 40 slukte vulkaner. Selvom vulkanerne er slukte, er området stadig seismologisk meget aktivt. I 1428 forårsagede et stort jordskælv omkring 20 dødsfald i Barcelona, som ligger næsten 100 km herfra.
