Indbyggerne kaldes Bidartar. Bidart er en del af den historiske baskiske provins Labourd og ligger ved floden Uhabia, som her løber ud i Biscayabugten. Bidart er omgivet af nabokommunerne Biarritz mod nord, Arbonne mod øst, Ahetze mod sydøst, Saint-Jean-de-Luz mod syd og Guéthary mod sydvest.
