Ved afgangen fra klosterets kirke vil du stige op mod en smuk udsigt over landsbyen bygget omkring klosteret, som munkene var ophav til Cluny. Omkring 890 blev Gigny et kloster grundlagt af Bernon, en adelsmand fra Bourgogne. I slutningen af det 11. århundrede mistede det denne titel for at blive en simpel priorat tilknyttet Cluny. Det består af romanske og gotiske dele.
