Café Het Verdronken Land er en institution i Hulst og omegn. Det ligger lige over grænsen til Holland ved Scheldedijk i Emmadorp. Ejernes Gina (60) og Sofie (32), mor og datter, praler med, at dette er det "hyggeligste terrasse i Hulst og omegn". Den iøjnefaldende og særprægede terrasse og café er mildest talt en oplevelse. Det er propfyldt, men alligevel smagfuldt indrettet med brocante. "Meget gør rent," siger Gina med et smil. Ejernes værdsætter deres omgivelser meget og har den største respekt for naturen. "Husskaderne må flyve ind og ud her. De bygger endda deres rede her," fortæller Gina.
