Statuen blev lavet af P. Jungblut fra Bilthoven og viser den hollandske jomfru med sværd og kors. Krigermonumentet blev afsløret den 1. november 1946. Monumentet indeholder navnene på indbyggerne i kommunen Losser, der mistede livet på nederlandsk jord og i det tidligere Hollandsk Østindien under Anden Verdenskrig. Senere kom navnene på fire ofre for de såkaldte "politiaktioner" i Hollandsk Østindien (1945 – 1950) til.
Monumentet befandt sig oprindeligt i Gronausestraat, men måtte i 1979 vige pladsen for den nye Rabobank-bygning og fik derefter sin nuværende placering.
