Das Gent Stadthaus ist ein Gebäude mit vielen Gesichtern. Das flammende Gotik der Fassade in der Hoogpoort steht in sharpem Kontrast zu dem eher strengen Renaissance-Stil an der Botermarkt. Auch drinnen werden Sie mit vielen verschiedenen Stilen bekannt gemacht: der Arsenal-Halle mit dem Holzgewölbe, der schönen Hochzeitskapelle mit den in sechs Buntglasfenstern verewigten Grafen Flanderns, dem Saal der Versöhnung mit seinem Labyrinth aus schwarzen und weißen Fliesen, Symbol für die Suche nach Gerechtigkeit und Glück, und so weiter.
Das Rathaus kann nur mit einem Führer besichtigt werden.
