Die Leinenhandelshalle als Anbau zum Glockenturm des 15. Jahrhunderts. Nur Leinen, das die Qualitätskontrolle bestanden hatte, durfte hier verkauft werden.
Im 18. Jahrhundert wurde das Gebäude als Rathaus genutzt. Aus diesem Grund wurde auf der anderen Seite des Glockenturms ein zusätzlicher Eingang für das Gefängnis und ein Haus für den Aufseher vom Stadtarchitekten David t'Kindt errichtet.
Zu dieser Zeit war die ursprüngliche Funktion der Leinenhandelshalle verschwunden.
