Einer der am häufigsten fotografierten Windmühlen der Welt. Die Mühle wurde 1867 am Standort einer alten hölzernen Mühle gebaut. Seit Jahrhunderten stand hier eine Bannmühle, deren Lehenrecht 1267 von Gräfin Margareta von Konstantinopel an die Stadt verkauft wurde. In der Mühlenwall ist eine Ölmühle untergebracht. Es ist ein geschütztes Denkmal und Teil des geschützten Stadtbildes. Die Mühle ist für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. Sie können die Mühle vom 1. April bis 30. September samstags, sonntags und an Feiertagen von 9.30 bis 12.30 Uhr und von 13.00 bis 18.00 Uhr besuchen. An anderen Tagen ist ein Besuch mit einem Führer möglich, wenn eine Reservierung bei der Touristeninformation von Damme erfolgt.
