Félicien Cauwel, Gendarm, gestorben für das Vaterland, deportiert am 30.5.1943 ins Folterlager Breendonk, am 30.11.1943 durch einen Schuss ins Kopf getötet.
Félicien Cauwel wurde 1885 in Nederboelare geboren und wurde von den Deutschen im Alter von 58 Jahren im Lager Breendonk exekutiert, nachdem er 6 Monate zuvor als Geisel festgenommen worden war. Er war Constable in Nederboelare und lebte zu Beginn der Schlossallee. Er ist auf dem Nationalen Schießstand in Schaerbeek im Ehrenfeld der Exekutierten begraben. Neben diesem Denkmal wurde auch die Felicien Cauwelstraat in Nederboelare zu seinen Ehren benannt.
