Dieses klassizistische Gebäude in Ruisbroek aus dem frühen 19. Jahrhundert wurde nach einem Entwurf von Ferdinand Berckmans erbaut. Es ist ein Juwel bürgerlicher Architektur mit einer aufsteigenden Galerie und auffälligen Rundbogenarkaden. Seit 1983 ist das ehemalige Rathaus ein geschütztes Denkmal.
Bis 2009 hatte das Museum De Bres in diesem schönen Gebäude seinen Sitz. Der Verein Museum De Bres wurde am 23. August 1976 gegründet, um die Erinnerung an alles, was Ruisbroek im katastrophalen Januar 1976 widerfahren ist, lebendig zu halten. Nach der Restaurierung des Gebäudes im Jahr 2011 beschloss die Gemeinde Puurs (nun Puurs-Sint-Amands), das Gebäude privat zu vermieten.
