Dieses Kreuz befindet sich am Fuße des Sneppewegels , der zum Gipfel des Poelbergs führt.
Der Poelberg ist ein 45 Meter hoher Hügel.
An der Spitze befindet sich ein ehemaliges Kloster der Glaubensschwestern mit angeschlossener Schule und einer Lourdesgrotte mit Prozession von 1938. Die Poelbergmühle von 1726 befindet sich ebenfalls im denkmalgeschützten Poelberggebiet . es ist eine geschützte Landschaft.
Bis Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts gab es auf dem Poelberg fast keine Behausung. Schließlich war es ein Jagdrevier für adelige Herren. Auch die Erklärung für die wenigen Gebäude liegt im damaligen dichten Eichenwald.
