Wir machen einen Spaziergang entlang der Waerevaart in Gistel. Diese wurde im vergangenen Jahr im Rahmen des GNOP, dem „Gemeindlichen Naturentwicklungsplan“, in Angriff genommen.
Es hat viel Aufwand gekostet, bis die Arbeiten beginnen konnten, aber im vergangenen Jahr war es endlich so weit. Die Waerevaart wurde verbreitert, und das Ufer wurde naturschutztechnisch gestaltet. Ein sanft abfallendes Ufer mit Schilfrohr wird das Wasser nicht nur reinigen, sondern auch einen wunderschönen Brutbiotop für seltene Ufer- und Wasser-vögel und einen idealen Laichplatz für Fische bieten. Aber zuerst muss die Natur natürlich noch Zeit bekommen, um sich zu einer echten Schilflandschaft zu entwickeln. Möchtest du mehr erfahren? Dann komm unbedingt mit uns spazieren.
