Wir gehen etwa hundert Meter auf der "Voetweg 38" entlang des Teichs des IJse-Vereins/ Neerijse, um das frühere Hotel zu sehen. Die Teiche, zwei große und einige kleinere, werden von Quellen gespeist.
Der Angelsee in der Kamstraat wurde 1933 von der Brauereifamilie Bruffaerts angelegt. Ursprünglich war dies als Neerijse-Plage (Strand) gedacht. Chalet du Lac wurde 1934 als Hotel-Restaurant eröffnet. Man konnte am Strand entspannen und im Teich angeln. Es gab Umkleidekabinen und ein Sprungbrett für Schwimmer. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs kam der Betrieb zum Stillstand und wurde danach wieder aufgenommen. Nach der Befreiung war eine Tochter von Winston Churchill eine regelmäßige Gast. 1958, dem Jahr der Expo in Heysel mit dem Atomium, war ein Spitzenjahr für das Hotel. 1965 stellte das Hotel-Restaurant den Betrieb ein. Das Gebäude steht noch und ist jetzt eine Wohnung.
