Die Gemeinde Flurlingen liegt zwischen Rhein und Westhang des Cholfirsts. Von der Gemeindefläche dienen 18,3 % der Landwirtschaft, 55,8 % ist mit Wald bedeckt, 4,2 % ist Verkehrsfläche und 17,9 % Siedlungsgebiet, 3,8 % sind Gewässer. Auf dem Cholfirst befindet sich bei 8°38'50" östliche Länge und 47°40'53" nördliche Breite ein Sendeturm in Stahlfachwerkbauweise mit einer für den Publikumsverkehr geöffneten Aussichtsplattform.
Die SVP hat 25,13 %, die SP 16,66 %, die FDP 15,36 %, die Grünen 15,26 %, die glp 14,53 %, die CVP 5,02 %, die BDP 2,12 %, die EVP 2,02 % und die AL 1,2 % der Wählerstimmen .
