Die Frauenkirche (Unserer Lieben Frau Kirche) liegt am Neumarkt in Dresden und ist eine evangelisch-lutherische Kirche im hochbarocken Stil, die zwischen 1726 und 1743 erbaut wurde. Die Kirche wurde von dem Dresdner Architekten George Bähr (1666-1738) entworfen.
Im Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde die Kirche während des bekannten und berüchtigten Bombenangriffs auf Dresden am 13.-14. Februar 1945 zerstört. Zur Zeit der DDR blieb die Ruine der Kirche als permanente Erinnerung an die Schrecken des Krieges stehen. Nach der Wende begann man 1994 mit dem Wiederaufbau. Am 30. Oktober 2005 wurde die Kirche offiziell wieder in Gebrauch genommen. Der Wiederaufbau hat schätzungsweise 130 Millionen Euro gekostet.
