Bacares ist eine spanische Gemeinde in der Provinz Almería in der Gemeinschaft Andalusien, gelegen in der Region des Tals von Almanzora und 73 km von der Provinzhauptstadt Almería entfernt. Die Bevölkerung im Jahr 2021 beträgt 250 Einwohner. Der Begriff "Bacares" scheint vom arabischen Wort für Kuh, 'vaquería' - einem Ort, an dem Rindvieh gehalten wird oder einem Viertel von Hütten und Hirten - abzuleiten.[1] Der Begriff stammt zudem von derselben Wurzel wie das lateinische "vacca". Die transhumante Viehzucht war eine bedeutende Aktivität in Bacares während des Mittelalters von al-Ándalus und bis zum 18. Jahrhundert, was diese Hypothese bestätigen würde.[2]
