Die sogenannten Cuevas de la Antigua Fragua (Höhlen der alten Schmiede) im historischen Zentrum von Mijas bilden eine Gruppe von drei kleinen Höhlen in den Felsen, die sowohl von der Natur als auch von Menschenhand geschaffen wurden.
Die Höhlen dienten als Lagerplatz für eine Schmiede .
Die menschliche Nutzung dieser natürlichen Höhlen war in der vorindustriellen Zeit weit verbreitet , da sie eine konstante Temperatur und Feuchtigkeit mit daraus resultierenden materiellen Vorteilen gewährleisteten.
Alle drei Räume wurden für die menschliche Besiedlung angepasst, insbesondere der größte. Das Schmiedehaus ist nicht erhalten.
