Die Kirche Sainte-Foy befindet sich am Platz Sainte-Foy, am Ende des Boulevards Präsident-Carnot, neben dem Bahnhof von Agen, im Lot-et-Garonne.
Nach dem Verfolgungserlass vom 28. Februar 303 wurde die heilige Foy im Jahr 303, wahrscheinlich am 6. Oktober, dem Tag ihres Festes, gemartert, nachdem sie vor dem Gericht des Dacien, einem römischen Prokonsul während der Herrschaft des Kaisers Maximian, erschienen war. Nach ihr starben ihre Schwester, die heilige Alberte, der heilige Caprais und andere christliche Einwohner der Stadt, fast 500, die kamen, um das Schicksal der Märtyrerin zu teilen.
