Die Porte d'Amont wurde 1629 erbaut und 1870 restauriert. Sie ist das einzige erhaltene Tor der Stadtmauer von Meung-sur-Loire. Sie war das Haupttor, die Ehrenpforte, da sie als Versammlungsort der Schöffen diente. Außerdem ermöglichte es den Einwohnern, sich zu schützen und die Stadt zu verteidigen.
