Brixen ist eine Stadt und Gemeinde im Südtiroler Eisacktal in Italien. Das über Jahrhunderte von Fürstbischöfen regierte Brixen ist eine der ältesten Städte der Region Tirol und mit 22.572 Einwohnern die drittgrößte Stadt Südtirols. Heute ist Brixen Hauptort der Bezirksgemeinschaft Eisacktal, ein lokales Wirtschaftszentrum sowie Standort von Hochschuleinrichtungen, mehrerer weiterführender Schulen und eines öffentlichen Krankenhauses.
