Die Porta Palermo ist ein historisches Stadttor aus dem 18. Jahrhundert , das entlang des Corso VI Aprile Zugang zum Stadtzentrum bietet. Es liegt an der Piazza Bagolino , die einen weiten Blick über den Golf von Castellamare bietet.
Das Tor enthält 2 Bronzereliefs des Bildhauers Nicola Rubino aus Alcamo (1961). „Il poeta Cielo d’Alcamo alla corte di Federico II“ und „Vita attiva di Alcamo“ („Der Dichter Cielo d’Alcamo am Hofe von Federico II“ und „Das aktive Leben von Alcamo“) sind ländliche Szenen in diesem Stil der römischen Schule, mit symbolischen Figuren. Nicola Rubino ist zweifellos einer der bedeutendsten Vertreter der italienischen Kunst des 20. Jahrhunderts.
