Twello ist ein Dorf mit etwa 13.675 Einwohnern in der Gemeinde Voorst in der niederländischen Provinz Gelderland. Das Dorf liegt in ländlicher Umgebung zwischen den Städten Deventer und Apeldoorn, nahe am Fluss IJssel. Das Rathaus der Gemeinde Voorst befindet sich in Twello. Im 14. Jahrhundert hieß es Twenlo, aber es gibt auch andere Formen wie; Twelle, Twelloe, Twelloo, Twenle, Twenlo und Twenloe. Jedes Mal sind zwei Wörter zu erkennen, nämlich "zwei" und "loo", was so viel bedeutet wie zwei Wälder oder Doppelwald.
