Ein Rabel ist ein Frachtschiff ohne Kiel, das speziell für den Transport von Portweinfässern über den wilden Duero zu den Portweinkellereien konzipiert ist.
Heutzutage wurden die Rabelo-Boote durch Straßentransportmittel ersetzt, aber es ist immer noch möglich, mit einem dieser Boote eine Bootstour durch Pinhão zu unternehmen. Sie verlässt Pinhão, fährt unter der eisernen Eiffelbrücke flussaufwärts bis zur Gegend von Roncão, wendet dort und kehrt nach Pinhão zurück. Unterwegs können Sie Hügel mit terrassierten Weinbergen bis hin zum Fluss sehen, ohne dass Nationalstraßen oder Verkehr in Sicht wären.
