The Abbey of Grimbergen (Canonia Grimbergensis in Latin) is a Norbertine abbey in the Brabantian circle. It is located in Grimbergen (province of Flemish Brabant), about 10 kilometers north of Brussels. It is the oldest inhabited Norbertine abbey in Belgium.
The emblem of the abbey is the phoenix, derived from Greek mythology. Just as this bird rises from its ashes, the abbey has been rebuilt after repeated destructions (in 1142, 1579, and 1816). This is also expressed by the motto ardet nec consumitur (it burns but is not consumed). source: wikipedia
