Wichlinghausen is a historically grown district in the Oberbarmen district of the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Wuppertal. For statistical purposes, the district is divided into the residential areas Wichlinghausen-North and Wichlinghausen-South.
Wichlinghausen lies north of the Wupper in the area of the former large city of Barmen, which was merged with the large city of Elberfeld and other towns and municipalities into Wuppertal in 1929. To the east, the district borders Nächstebreck, to the south the districts of Wupperfeld and Rittershausen, to the west the districts of Sedansberg and the old Gemarke, and to the north the district of Hatzfeld.
