The St. Mary's Church in Großenkneten is the parish church of the Evangelical Lutheran congregation of Großenkneten, which belongs to the church district of Delmenhorst/Oldenburg-Land of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oldenburg.
A church was presumably founded in Großenkneten as early as the 9th century. Excavations have revealed predecessor buildings from before 1000 and around 1300. Written sources indicate that there was a Romanesque church building that was enlarged in the 15th century.
