The children's burial site in the New Cemetery in Gießen for non-burial obligation deceased children was opened in 1999 in a newly established part of the New Cemetery in Gießen. At a central location in the burial area stands the sculpture "Geborgen" by the sculptor Heide-Birgitt Theiß.
The Gießen New Cemetery is located on Rodtberg in the north of the city. The children's burial site was set up in cemetery section XIV in the northwest of the cemetery.
