City Towers
The year is 1263. The oldest imprint of the Borken city seal under the document shows a Romanesque castle built of massive blocks.
The castle wall with its merlons and the double gate is dominated by mighty city towers. Today, only remnants of the wall are still visible.
Five medieval city towers - the Thieves' Tower, the Holken Tower, the Cow Tower, the Wedemhove Tower, and the Windmill Tower, however, are well preserved.
