Tönisheide is a district of the city of Velbert in the district of Neviges in the Mettmann district in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. As of February 11, 2021, the locality had 5,642 residents.
The locality is situated in the Niederberg region on the southern branch of the Velberter Ridge, which reaches its highest point here at 269.2 m. The ridge forms a watershed, where streams west of the ridge drain into the Rhine via the Angerbach, while those to the east flow into the Ruhr via the Hardenberger Bach. To the north, it borders the central district of Velbert, to the east Neviges, and to the southwest Wülfrath.
