Cycling route
Heather alternates with soft rush, winding sedge, and blackberries. There are many Scots pines, but the aim is for these to gradually disappear and make way for a varied deciduous forest. The Scottish Highland cattle lend a hand in the management. They ensure that the heath does not become overgrown with trees. Additionally, there is a desire to create more heathland. This is beneficial for the nightjar, a rare species that has been breeding in the Laurabossen for several years.
