Al sonar las Campanas de Gante en 1914, la gran campana del Belfort estalló. Entonces se le llamó la Triomfante. Esa cosa tenía casi 2 & 1/2 siglos de antigüedad (fundida en 1670 por el conocido campanero Hemony).
Al año siguiente, Hemony fundió tres grandes campanas, de las cuales la más grande se llamó Triomfante. Desde 1913, esa campana es impulsada eléctricamente y estalló al sonar las Campanas de Gante en 1914.
Se colocó en reposo a los pies del belfort. En 1948 se inauguró una nueva campana, Roeland.
A finales de 2003, la Triomfante sufrió una restauración profunda, con el objetivo de volver a colocarla en la torre e integrarla en el carillón de Hemony.
La actual campana Roeland de 1948 terminó en la Plaza Emile Braun.
