"En Nederbrakel en febrero de 1847 ocurrió una verdadera afluencia de gente cuando un propietario de perros mató a su fiel mascota, la despellejó y ofreció el cadáver a la venta. Se dice que 300 personas acudieron al rumor de que había carne barata disponible."
