La granja “Nido de Cigüeñas”, en el borde del valioso valle de Abeek, es según la tradición local el lugar de nacimiento de Pieter Bruegel el Viejo. El edificio original data del siglo XIII, pero fue reconstruido en 1866, tras un incendio.
En el siglo XV, “Nido de Cigüeñas” era propiedad de los condes de Hoorn. Un camino arbolado conectaba la granja con un molino de agua a lo largo del Abeek. Este molino de agua fue trasladado al Museo Provincial al Aire Libre en Bokrijk.
