Brussegem es un lugar y una submunicipalidad de Merchtem en la provincia belga de Brabante Flamenco, a unos 10 km de Bruselas. El santo patrón de Brussegem es San Esteban. Brussegem fue un municipio independiente hasta la reorganización municipal de 1977. Brussegem tiene una historia muy larga que se remonta a la época franca, cuando se fundó el pueblo Brussingaheim. Con la fusión en 1977 con Merchtem, el barrio de Oppem, que hasta entonces formaba parte de Brussegem, fue separado y agregado al municipio de Meise.
