Edelhof era originalmente un edificio que pertenecía al monasterio y en el siglo XIX fue convertido en una casa señorial/castillo para la prominente familia De Matthys. Por lo tanto, es un ejemplo típico de 'residencias más recientes con aires de castillo'. Hoy en día, sirve como punto de partida/puerta al Parque Nacional Hoge Kempen.
