La roca que sobresale como una columna vertebral sobre un meandro de la Ourthe ofrece uno de los paisajes más hermosos de Bélgica.
El río generalmente puede abrirse camino a través del macizo ardense, pero a veces se encuentra con rocas de cuarzo esquistoso como las de Hérou y entonces el río simplemente gira a su alrededor. De esta manera, forma hermosas arabescos en el paisaje. Este conjunto paisajístico está incluido en la lista de Patrimonio Excepcional de Valonia.
