Esta caminata de ida y vuelta comienza en el hotel Floreal y tiene como punto final la Plaza de la Sexta Línea de Ramskapelle.
La ruta pasa por los siguientes puntos temáticos:
1. Estuario del Izern
2. Área natural de la desembocadura del Izern con barro y juncos
3. Kattesas: intento de inundación el 25 de octubre de 1914
4. Nieuwpoort: mercado con el ayuntamiento, la iglesia de Nuestra Señora y el salón de la ciudad
5. Ganzo con el sistema de canales de la Veurne-Ambacht Vaart. Desde aquí, a partir del 29 de octubre, la llanura de Izern se inundó hasta Diksmuide. Esto creó un frente "estable" entre Nieuwpoort y Diksmuide, defendido por fuerzas belgas.
