Kempenich es una localidad en el distrito de Ahrweiler en Renania-Palatinado. Pertenece a la comunidad administrativa de Brohltal, que tiene su sede en Niederzissen. Kempenich es el lugar más grande en la parte superior del Brohltal y un lugar de recreo reconocido por el estado.
La localidad se encuentra en el área oriental del borde de la Hocheifel, a unos ocho kilómetros al noroeste de Mayen. La Hohe Acht se eleva a unos siete kilómetros al suroeste de Kempenich, y a casi diez kilómetros al este se encuentra el Lago Laacher.
