Blomberg es una ciudad en el sureste del Distrito de Lippe, en la Región de Detmold, en el estado de Renania del Norte-Westfalia. Se encuentra a unos 45 km al sureste de Bielefeld y a 20 km al este de Detmold. La ciudad incorporó en 1970, 18 municipios hasta entonces independientes. Blomberg tiene alrededor de 16.000 habitantes y tiene un casco histórico muy bien conservado. La primera colonización del territorio, se llevó a cabo entre los siglos VI y VIII en el marco de la altsächsischen la Inmigración.[4] Entre 1231 y 1255 es la Fundación de la ciudad por el conde Bernardo III de Lippe.
