La biblioteca de Witten es la biblioteca municipal de la ciudad de Witten. Cuenta con una biblioteca central y cuatro bibliotecas de distrito en el área urbana.
Como la primera biblioteca pública en el actual territorio de la ciudad de Witten, se fundó en 1882 la llamada biblioteca popular en Annen. En 1911 se estableció la biblioteca municipal en el museo de Märkisch, que fue construido entre 1909 y 1911. Los 4588 volúmenes iniciales provenían de la asociación educativa de Witten. Con las incorporaciones de Annen, Rüdinghausen, Stockum y Bommern en 1929, se añadieron las primeras sucursales. Sin embargo, debido a la antigüedad y el estado deteriorado de las colecciones de libros, las sucursales de Bommern, Rüdinghausen y Schnee se cerraron nuevamente poco después. Solo quedaron las sucursales de Annen y Stockum.
