La Richard-Schirrmann-Realschule era una antigua escuela secundaria en Altena, que fue disuelta al final del año escolar 2016/2017.
La institución estaba nombrada en honor a la personalidad de Richard Schirrmann, que marcó a la ciudad y su historia, quien fundó el primer albergue juvenil provisional en 1907, el cual se trasladó al castillo de Altena en 1912. Este se encontraba en el antiguo edificio de la escuela, que entonces se llamaba Netterschule. El antiguo edificio fue demolido en la década de 1960. Después, la escuela fue completamente reconstruida en su forma actual. En 1998, la escuela secundaria se trasladó al último edificio utilizado.
