Bilstein es una aldea con más de mil habitantes en el municipio de Lennestadt, en el Sauerland, en el estado alemán de Renania del Norte - Westfalia. En la aldea se encuentra el castillo Burg Bilstein.
La localidad de Bilstein se sitúa en el suroeste del municipio de Lennestadt, en el valle del Veischedebach, un afluente izquierdo del río Lenne. A través de este valle y, por lo tanto, también por Bilstein, transcurre la carretera federal 55 de Olpe a Grevenbrück, municipio de Lennestadt. Bilstein se encuentra a 7 kilómetros al sur de la desembocadura del Veischedebach en el Lenne, en el límite de Grevenbrück. Un pequeño camino montañoso de 6 km lleva hacia el este a Altenhundem, la localidad principal de Lennestadt. Allí se encuentra también la estación de tren más cercana. La aldea se sitúa a unos 305 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
